Head of Food and Catering
My journey with Wings began in 1993 as a Scout and continued in 1998 as a Venture Scout. I remember the excitement I felt when I was a young scout at the first ever Wings event, having never experienced anything like it before.
It was amazing to then be lucky enough to work as a part of the catering team in 2003 and again in 2009 and experience these events from both in front and behind the scenes.
I’ve worked in the high-end, large-scale hospitality events sectors, as well as smaller bespoke events and now run my own catering company. I have to keep up to date with food trends, legislation and laws and will use this knowledge to deliver a tasty and nutritious food offering, which appeals to young people and support staff.
Being in a position to use my professional background to contribute to providing Guides and Scouts with an enjoyable and memorable experience is a very exciting prospect and fulfils one of my career ambitions. My professional background, with 20 years in the food and catering industry, teamed with my personal experience of attending WINGS events, give me the confidence to provide and organise the food and catering to a very high standard.
