I’m Alice McNair and I am a Project Coordinator for WINGS 2020. In my day to day life I am the Operations Manager for a Private Children’s day nursery in North London, which is situated in 180 acres of farmland alongside a petting farm for children. This is a new project and I am responsible for designing and building this facility from conception to completion. I have been working alongside children for the past seven years as Group Operations Manager for a series of nurseries and children’s residential care homes across Berkshire, Surrey and Sussex. This has involved building, running and motivating teams across these facilities with a diverse range of challenges both operational and pastoral; at the heart of these activities has been the welfare and educational stimulation of children. We typically encouraged our team leaders to bring new ideas and vision to our management for consideration and implementation in order to offer contemporary and enjoyable experiences for those under our care.
Despite not having been a part of the Guiding community as a child, I really wanted to join as an adult and have the opportunity to engage with my Rainbows outside of school assessment reports!! I have been involved in Girl Guiding for the last year and have recently opened my open Rainbows unit in Ascot. It has been such a fantastic journey so far and I am thrilled to be appointed the new role of Project Coordinator for WINGS 2020!!!!
I believe that my experience from running a group of companies will enable me to bring the skills necessary to support and motivate all the teams with new ideas and strategic vision. I am so excited to be able to attend WINGS 2020 and meet so many passionate individuals along the way.
